About Myself

Hello, I’m Landon. I recently turned 30, and this feels like an important moment to step forward and serve my community. My move to Sooke began with an interest in self-reliance and food production, which led me to an organic farming apprenticeship and eventually to Vancouver Island. Here, friends and I started a hobby farm near the Sooke River, and along the way I found a local church community that became like family. I try to live out my Christian faith by serving all people with dignity and respect.

My background in food rescue and distribution also connected me to local nonprofit work, and today I serve with Sooke FoodCHI and the Sooke Region Food Systems Network. That involvement deepened my appreciation for our community and has led me into local politics as another way to serve this amazing place I’m deeply grateful to call home.

A special thank you to Trena Sutton,  T’Sou-ke band member, and PhD candidate. For welcoming me to this territory and acknowledging the work I do stewarding these lands. I am deeply grateful, and look forward to working with them in the future.
