Voting Information

Election day is Saturday October 17th

Eligible voters can elect:

  • 1 Mayor

  • 6 Councillors

  • 3 School Trustees for School District 62

  • Voting will take place at

  • Edward Milne Community School

  • Address: 6218 Sooke Road

  • From 8am to 8pm

Advanced voting

October 7, 2026 Council Chamber, Municipal Hall8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

October 10, 2026Edward Milne Community School8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

October 14, 2026Council Chamber, Municipal Hall8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ID Requirements

If you're already on the voters list:

  • Find voting information, polling locations, important dates, and everything you need to cast your ballot.

  • BC Driver's LicenseBC Identification CardBC Services Card with photoOther government-issued photo ID with your name and address

 

If you're registering when you vote

  • You will need two pieces of identification, both showing your name and at least one showing your residential address. Examples include:

  • BC Driver's License

  • BC Identification Card

  • Utility bill

  • Bank statement

  • Property tax notice

  • Passport (with another document showing your address)

Voting Elegibility 

  • You must be 18 or older on the general voting day

  • You must be a Canadian citizen

  • You must have been a resident of B.C. for at least 6 months immediately before the day you vote 

  • Non-resident property electors may be eligible to vote if they meet the criteria outlined in the Local Government Act.

  • Only one registered owner of the property may vote, and consent from the majority of other owners is required.

  • Application details will be available once the 2026 election period begins.
